Electronics Engineering Intern
A dynamic, flexible, innovative and multicultural work environment and a high-quality office environment with unlimited healthy snacks & fruit!
About Corintis:
Corintis is a startup that is a provider of advanced cooling solutions for AI/HPC applications.
Corintis has developed a range of novel patent-pending microfluidic cooling technologies for use in current and next-generation data centers & HPC applications. These are used to improve the sustainability of advanced computing and enable the next generation of AI workloads powering applications from generative AI systems to climate modeling and drug discovery. More powerful chips generate more heat; extracting this heat is a major challenge for our future.
Current cooling systems are not only limited but also wasteful; cooling data centers consume more electricity than London and New York combined. At Corintis, we remove these limitations by integrating cooling directly inside the chip. We enable the sustainable computing of the future to address the biggest global challenges.
Working at Corintis:
Corintis offers a friendly and team-oriented workplace bringing together a diverse group of nationalities to solve the biggest computing challenges of tomorrow. Based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, we are closely connected to the local ecosystem and are located a few minutes’ walk from Lake Geneva.
Job Description:
We are looking for an Electronics Engineering Intern to join our team in developing temperature acquisition and power control systems for our Thermal Test Vehicles (TTVs).
TTVs are custom silicon chips designed to mimic the thermal behavior of high-performance processors. By emulating realistic heat generation profiles in actual silicon, they allow us to evaluate and optimize cooling solutions without the need for functional compute chips. This work is central to enabling next-generation thermal management in high-density computing environments.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the next iterations of our temperature acquisition systems, starting from a working prototype.
- Design, test, and refine the signal acquisition chain (multiplexing, amplification, ADC).
- Design schematics and PCB of the first release version of the temperature DAQ system.
- Adjusting the firmware running on an STM32 microcontroller for reliable data acquisition.
- Collaborate with the software team to build or refine the desktop application that communicates with the DAQ system.
- Participate in system integration, set-up, and validation, including troubleshooting during thermal test campaigns.
- In general, support diverse electronics and embedded systems development activities across different projects, depending on the current needs.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Technical skills:
- Experience with PCB design, circuit prototyping, and electronic debugging.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32) and sensor interfacing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or C++.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
Soft skills:
- Fluent in English.
- Able to write clear, high-quality technical documentation.
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, especially in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Practical, problem-solving attitude with a “get things done” mentality.
What we offer:
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract: 6 months Internship
- Activity rate: 100%
- Salary: 2,500 CHF gross per month
- Location: On-site in Lausanne
- Department
- Hardware
- Role
