Senior Mechanical Engineer – Cold Plate Design
A dynamic, flexible, innovative, and multicultural work environment, Employee stock participation plan (PSOP), and a high-quality office environment.
About Corintis:
Corintis develops advanced microfluidic cooling solutions for AI chips, GPUs, and CPUs to reduce data center power consumption. Our software platform, Glacierware, customizes cooling channels to each chip’s power map, enabling efficient and sustainable cooling. We are based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, Switzerland, and our team includes over 20 nationalities.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and optimize liquid-cooled and microfluidic devices for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI applications. You’ll lead the development from concept to production, combining expertise in thermal engineering, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop microfluidic cold plates and mechanical assemblies.
- Model and simulate heat transfer and fluid flow for performance optimization.
- Create detailed CAD designs and technical drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
- Manage prototyping and production with high-quality standards.
- Develop and run tests to validate cooling performance and reliability.
- Analyze experimental data to improve designs.
- Collaborate with customers to adapt solutions to specific hardware.
- Contribute to R&D and innovation in sustainable cooling technologies.
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in thermal management or liquid cooling, ideally for data centers or HPC.
- Strong CAD and mechanical design skills; experience with tolerance analysis.
- Knowledge of advanced packaging (2.5D/3D) and microfluidic integration.
- Hands-on experience with heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and test bench design.
- Understanding of industry standards (ASHRAE, OCP).
- Fluent in English, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
This is a great fit if:
- You enjoy hands-on design and testing of cooling systems.
- You have strong skills in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and CAD.
- You like working in a fast-moving, collaborative startup.
- You care about sustainability and efficient computing.
- You take ownership and deliver high-quality work.
This won’t be the right role if:
- You prefer theory over practical, lab-based work.
- You need strict structure or large-company processes.
- You don’t want to work on-site in Lausanne.
- You’re not interested in cooling or thermal design.
