Senior Mechanical Engineer – Cold Plate Design
A dynamic, flexible, innovative, and multicultural work environment, Employee stock participation plan (PSOP), and a high-quality office environment.
About Corintis:
Corintis develops advanced microfluidic cooling solutions for AI chips, GPUs, and CPUs to reduce data center power consumption. Our software platform, Glacierware, customizes cooling channels to each chip’s power map, enabling efficient and sustainable cooling. We are based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, Switzerland, and our team includes over 20 nationalities.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the precision mechanical design and integration of our liquid-cooled systems for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI applications. You’ll lead the development from concept to production, with a strong focus on mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and robust design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of assemblies, fixtures, and cold plates, applying Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.
- Perform detailed tolerance analysis (GD&T) and complete robust Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Create production-ready CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring effective revision control with PDM.
- Manage prototyping and production with high-quality standards, ensuring designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Develop and validate mechanical reliability tests, including integration and structural integrity assessments.
- Analyze experimental data to improve mechanical robustness and production yield.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize assembly and fabrication processes.
- Contribute to R&D and innovation in precision mechanical integration and advanced assembly techniques.
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related precision engineering field.
- Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in high-precision mechanical design and product development.
- Expert-level CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), with proven experience in GD&T and advanced tolerance stacking/analysis.
- Strong expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and quality systems.
- Fluent in English, with strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with metal joining techniques like brazing or advanced bonding is a strong plus.
- Previous experience designing liquid-cooled cold plates or microfluidic devices is a strong plus.
This is a great fit if:
- You enjoy hands-on, high-precision mechanical design, prototyping, and validation.
- You have expert skills in CAD, technical drawings, and advanced tolerancing (GD&T).
- You are passionate about Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and optimizing mechanical processes for production.
- You like working in a fast-moving, collaborative startup environment.
- You take ownership, thrive on technical challenges, and deliver high-quality, production-ready work.
This won’t be the right role if:
- You prefer theory over practical work.
- You need strict, large-company processes.
- You don’t want to work on-site in Lausanne.
- You lack deep expertise or interest in precision mechanical design and tolerancing.
